A New Day was first published in 1985, to compensate for the lack of information in the music press as to the activities, or indeed the existence, of JETHRO TULL, and to act as a forum for news and views for Tull fans throughout the world.

It is a strictly non-funded, independent publication written and published by me in (what was once) my spare time, but the initial print run of 50 has risen to approx. 4,000 with subscribers in more than 30 countries.

A New Day has no official connection with Jethro Tull or Chrysalis Records save for the good-will that has built up over the years, to the extent that I was invited to help out with the excellent 20 Years and 25 Years box sets and video packages.

The collective readership of A New Day was largely responsible for persuading Chrysalis to put together those items through years of constant lobbying, and that is an indication of just what can be achieved when the fans are able to communicate directly with the band and record company through the pages of the magazine.

The aim of A New Day is to give advance notice of concerts, records, TV and radio appearances where possible, and to procure exclusive and exhaustive interviews with band members old and new.

Ian Anderson, Martin Barre, Mick Abrahams,

Glenn Cornick, John Evans, Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond,

Clive Bunker, Dave Pegg, Don Airey, Doane Perry,

Barrie Barlow, David Palmer, Mark Craney,

Maart Allcock, Jon Noyce and Andy Giddings

have all spoken to us at length, most more than once, and we have even gone back to pre-Tull days to talk to members of the John Evan Band which evolved into Tull in 1968.

Almost all Tull CDs can be ordered by mail from A New Day, and official Tull merchandise can be bought at discount by subscribers, when available.

In addition to the usual Tull releases, A New Day has released various 'members only' items, and is also now a fully fledged record company with many Tull related CDs released. A.N.D. also covers related bands such as

Fairport Convention, Blodwyn Pig,

The Martin Barre Band, David Palmer

etc. so if you want to be kept informed on all things Tull join us now.

The more readers we have, the more power we have to persuade the established media to stop ignoring the greatest band in the world! A New Day is an A5 colour magazine published approximately 5 times per year. Some back issues are available and details are available in each issue of the mag.

NB A NEW DAY is a good old fashioned printed magazine, ink on paper. It is not available electronically... and it ain't gonna be!
