Performance Conversions and Tuning….BIG NEWS!
We have recently been appointed a DEALER for RICA through Chip Tuning Ltd, world renowned for specializing in developing and selling tuning products and accessories for Volvo. There are a variety of tuning options for your vehicle which centre around a chip upgrade to your existing Engine Management System. This works very well particularly on the turbo cars and in conjunction with an exhaust upgrade makes a big difference to the performance. There are kits available which include an exhaust upgrade with a change to ECU mapping for serious improvements, over 300 bhp for the 850 and V70. Diesel do nicely!
We have a tuning option for your diesel vehicle too!! This is to remap your existing Engine Management System. This we can do using RICA and works so well on the turbo cars! There are improvements to be made in power, torque, fuel consumption and driveability for surprisingly low cost.

Furthermore we have also been appointed a Dealer for the BSR range of tuning options, www.bsruk.co.uk, to fill any gaps in the options available!

We can also fit a modified turbocharger to give increased boost over and above what the existing turbocharger can produce and, more importantly, hold for longer in the rev range. Increasing boost on the standard turbocharger really only works to a limited degree and big increases power requirements are not really viable over about 4500 rpm, above that it will struggle to sustain that increase and power and torque will significantly drop off. A vehicle we have just completed is running over 365 bhp and over 400 ft lbs of torque, we had to stop there due to limits within the engine but the results are dramatic on the road. This engine was also fitted with a modified cylinder head with careful attention to the porting significantly improving the low to mid-range torque, the driving force that makes a vehicle quick off the line and importantly quicker at overtaking. We have a number of options available depending on your requirements extending to big-valve and with a change of camshaft.
The exhaust plays a big part in matters and an upgraded 2.5inch exhaust system particularly for the turbos makes a big difference in torque and top end horsepower.

We can also supply suspension kits to improve the handling along with styling kits and braking upgrades. The fitting of a strut brace for example is a very effective ‘instant’ fix on the 850 and V/S/C70 to sharpen up the steering. This along with upgrades for the braking system and you end up with a very high performance Volvo. Different!
